Often considered one of the most remote areas of the country, Khotang is sometimes referred to as the \u201csecond Karnali region\u201d of Nepal, located southeast of Mount Everest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"566\" data-end=\"1009\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">The geographic coordinates of Bakachol are approximately <strong data-start=\"623\" data-end=\"664\">86\u00b045\u203220\u2033 to 86\u00b049\u203240\u2033 East longitude<\/strong> and <strong data-start=\"669\" data-end=\"710\">27\u00b022\u203220\u2033 to 27\u00b026\u203225\u2033 North latitude<\/strong>. The village is bordered by <strong data-start=\"739\" data-end=\"785\">Liding Khola and Ward No. 1 (Rakhawangdel)<\/strong> to the east, <strong data-start=\"799\" data-end=\"830\">Jubu in Solukhumbu District<\/strong> to the west, <strong data-start=\"844\" data-end=\"888\">Sotang and Lokhim in Solukhumbu District<\/strong> to the north, and <strong data-start=\"907\" data-end=\"937\">Ward No. 3 (Ainselukharka)<\/strong> to the south. Bakachol covers an area of <strong data-start=\"979\" data-end=\"1006\">24.87 square kilometers<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1011\" data-end=\"1296\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Due to its varied terrain, the village experiences <strong data-start=\"1062\" data-end=\"1093\">diverse climatic conditions<\/strong>, ranging from tropical to temperate. Some areas experience snowfall during the cold season. The forests in the upper regions are home to <strong data-start=\"1231\" data-end=\"1293\">wild boars, bears, deer, and even the endangered red panda<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1298\" data-end=\"1625\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Bakachol is naturally beautiful, with abundant natural resources including forests, water sources, and fertile land suitable for agriculture and livestock rearing. However, traditional farming is still predominant, and villagers face challenges generating sufficient income as there is <strong data-start=\"1584\" data-end=\"1622\">no local market for their products<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1627\" data-end=\"1650\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"1631\" data-end=\"1648\">Accessibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1651\" data-end=\"1915\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Reaching Bakachol from Kathmandu requires approximately <strong data-start=\"1707\" data-end=\"1727\">12 hours by jeep<\/strong>, with the final 3 hours being particularly difficult due to unpaved roads. Despite this, in recent years the village has been connected to the national road network through a dirt road.<\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1917\" data-end=\"1947\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><strong data-start=\"1921\" data-end=\"1945\">Culture and Religion<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1948\" data-end=\"2276\"><span style=\"color: #000000; font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\">Bakachol is home to a <strong data-start=\"1970\" data-end=\"1992\">diverse population<\/strong> representing various ethnic groups and religions. Major religions include <strong data-start=\"2067\" data-end=\"2114\">Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, and Kirat<\/strong>.
