Motherland Bakachol Welfare Society Nepal (MBWSN) – Organizational Profile
Overview
Motherland Bakachol Welfare Society Nepal (MBWSN) is a non-profit, non-governmental, and non-political organization dedicated to improving the welfare of residents in Bakachol Village, Khotang District, Nepal. Established in 2011 A.D. and legally registered with the Government of Nepal, MBWSN was founded by committed residents of Bakachol to address the urgent development, healthcare, and educational needs of their remote mountain community.
Context and Rationale
Bakachol Village is a remote, mountainous settlement in eastern Nepal’s Khotang District, home to approximately 3,500 residents. Historically isolated, the village faces challenges in accessing basic services, including healthcare, education, transportation, and communication. These limitations leave the community vulnerable to preventable illnesses, emergencies, and educational disparities.
In this context, MBWSN plays a critical role in promoting community welfare and sustainable development, providing targeted support to improve the quality of life for Bakachol’s residents.
Mission and Objectives
The core mission of MBWSN is to rescue and support individuals in critical need while promoting long-term community development. Key objectives include:
-
Emergency Medical Support: Providing rapid assistance to accident victims and seriously ill patients, including helicopter evacuations when required.
-
Healthcare Access: Facilitating hospital treatment, follow-up care, and preventive health programs for local residents.
-
Education Support: Offering scholarships to underprivileged and hardworking students to enhance educational standards.
-
Public School Assistance: Strengthening local schools through infrastructure aid, learning materials, and capacity-building initiatives.
Vision
MBWSN envisions a Bakachol Village fully connected to 21st-century services and opportunities. While the world becomes increasingly interconnected, Bakachol has remained physically and socially distant from essential healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
Since its establishment, MBWSN has been a pioneering organization in Bakachol, improving living conditions, promoting rural health, and enhancing educational outcomes. The organization is committed to sustainable community development, empowerment, and social welfare for the residents of Bakachol Village.
